OSSbuy QC photos: read them like a buyer

When your item reaches the OSSbuy warehouse, staff photograph it and check the obvious details. That QC step is your one chance to catch a problem before it crosses a border. Most beginners glance and click approve. This decoder shows exactly what to look at by category, and what each finding should make you do next.

What QC can and can't do. QC photos confirm what's visible — colour, size tags, obvious defects, the right item. They cannot confirm authenticity, hidden defects, or how something wears over months. Set expectations accordingly.

A QC set is several angles, not one photo — open each before you approve.

A QC set is more than one photo

For most items you'll get several shots: an overall view, the size or spec tag, close-ups of stitching and logos, and anything that looks off. The mistake beginners make is judging the whole order from the first thumbnail.

Open every angle. If a critical one is missing or blurry, that's a re-shoot request — not a reason to approve and hope.

Decoder: what to check, by category

Sneakers & shoes

Look at

  • Size tag on the box vs the size you ordered
  • Left/right symmetry, glue marks, crooked logos
  • Insole print and stitching straightness
  • Both shoes photographed, not just one

Then decide

  • Wrong size on tag → ask re-shoot or refund
  • Heavy glue / crooked logo → request another pair
  • Only one shoe shown → ask for the pair
Apparel (tops, jeans, jackets)

Look at

  • Flat-lay measurements against the seller chart
  • Print/embroidery placement and colour accuracy
  • Wash tags, seams, loose threads, holes
  • Correct colourway and variant

Then decide

  • Measurements far off chart → resize or refund
  • Print peeling / wrong colour → re-shoot then decide
  • Small loose thread only → usually fine to approve
Bags & leather goods

Look at

  • Hardware close-ups (zips, clasps, engraving)
  • Stitching density and evenness
  • Interior lining and any date/serial detail
  • Symmetry of straps and panels

Then decide

  • Uneven stitching / rough hardware → request another
  • Scuffs or glue → ask re-shoot to confirm
  • All clean → approve and consolidate
Watches, eyewear & electronics

Look at

  • Powered-on / functional photo where relevant
  • Scratches on glass, lens, or screen
  • Included accessories match the listing
  • Packaging intact for fragile items

Then decide

  • Not shown working → ask for a function photo
  • Visible scratch → request replacement
  • Fragile → ask about extra packing before shipping
A

Approve

Item matches your order and shows no visible defect. Approve it and keep it in the warehouse until you're ready to consolidate.

B

Ask a re-shoot

Something is unclear — a blurry tag, only one angle, no function shot. Request additional QC photos before you decide. This is normal and worth doing.

C

Reject / refund

Wrong item, wrong size on the tag, or a clear defect. Raise it with OSSbuy support and reference your order screenshot. Don't ship a known-bad item to "save the fee".

Never do this: approve QC blindly to hurry a parcel out. Fixing a problem is cheap while the item sits in China. Once it's shipped, a return across borders usually costs more than the item.
